First we had a men's breakfast, then some of us went to the Wreaths Across America ceremony at the National Cemetery, then visited with other bikers at Best Bikes who had just done a toys for tots ride. We had read beans and rice there. Then we road in our first parade, the Ball Christmas Parade. There were six CROP members riding and two passengers who really helped on thowing all that candy out. Our Christmas family was really blessed as we arrived with toys, clothes, food, a bicycle for the girl, diapers, and a gift card to Walmart for $400.00. On top of that we mailed off a check to the Lyons family for $500.00. I'll say it again...I'm so proud to be part of such a giving group of people. This was CROP's 2nd time to sponsor Top Gun Training. We had 11 men who came out to learn some new techniques and sharpen their riding skills. It was a great success. All of us left with much more confidence in ourselves and our bikes. We did some things we didn't think we could do, but with the right training, it was possible. The setting is wonderfully done in this old home with the huge round tables with the lazy susan for the buffet. The food is always good ole home country cooking. Great ride, great time, great food. He is 10 years old and is fighting cancer for the 3rd time. A wonderful story was done on the news about him and God placed him on the heart of Doyle Bullock that we should meet him. When we arrived in Fisher there was a special event taking place for Dawson with a medieval times setting for presenting gifts to him as he sat next to the king. Doyle was chosen to step up and present the gifts we had for him. God used Doyle to share our faith in Jesus Christ through this presentation. There were 7 particpants for that class, 2 of them are new riders with only about 1 month of riding experience. Then on Sunday, May 15th, we had another "Advanced" class. For 2 of us it was our third time to train with Dave, 3 were on their second class, and 1 was the first time with Top Gun but had 2 previous MSF classes. All of us had such a great time pushing ourselves and our bikes to limits we had thought we couldn't do before. As always, I feel so much better about my abilities and those who ride along with us who have been trained to use the same skills. Some of us teamed up with the VOA and donated some time to serve families in our area who are raising their grandchildren. Every story is different and all the kids are special and loved. It was fun letting the kids come check out the motorcycles and sit on them for the first time in their life. We got to serve these families and sit and visit with them for a while. On lady is raising her great grandsons, and another is raising 7 of her grandchidlren. She has Leukemia and has been in and out of the hospital for some time now. Her parents are members of CROP. We were able to bless this family financially with just over $3,300 raised at this event. Thanks to all who helped, and Special thanks to our friends at Lucille' Red Kettle for going above an beyond to help us with this cause.
